The mermaid’s eyes have always changed with the weather, shifting, uncertain. They’ve walked into the storm until their dress is soaked and clings to their skin. They stand at the edge of the ocean fighting the urge to swim out beyond sight of land. This ocean might be literal, but can also be metaphorical, the call of the horizon, the tidal forces of the heart are all oceanic: which pelagic depth calls to you?
A child of two worlds, their central conflict is about how they choose to embrace their changing body and find a new place in the world. How they discover what they were all along.
